Retired in 1998, the SR-71 high-altitude surveillance aircraft leaked fuel from its wing panels when it sat on the ground. Only once in flight did the panels expand due to air resistance and fit tightly together.

When I accidently reformatted a hard drive, I was able to use TestDisk to successfully recover one of the partitions and all the files. Use this utility immediately after you realize your mistake to avoid file loss.

I admit - I’ve lost important files multiples times. Worse yet, failure to backup this data rendered it irrecoverable. Life goes on, but at this point there really isn’t any excuse not to backup your data.
