Backup Those Files
Posted in Tech
I admit - I’ve lost important files multiples times. Worse yet, failure to backup this data rendered it irrecoverable. Life goes on, but at this point there really isn’t any excuse not to backup your data.
Recently I discovered Mozy, a free online backup service with 2GB of storage. It’s perfect for me: I can backup the My Documents folder which holds all my important stuff. Mozy sits in the system tray and a simple hover over tells me the last time my files were backed up. Mozy is smart, it performs a full backup the first time you run, then an incremental backup (only backing up those files that have changed since your last backup) when you run it subsequently.
File recovery is pretty easy too. Just logon to the website and choose the date and files you’d like to restore. You’ll soon receive an email with a link to download a zip folder containing your files.
Sign up now and we’ll both get an extra 256MB of storage space!
Currently, Mozy requires Windows XP, but they say a Mac client is in the works.
